Hello all-
I've searched and found lots of data around struts for these cars, but many/most evolved into threads around coilovers / options for raising / lowering and such.

I'm more vanilla, am just looking to replace rear struts because one is leaking (already replaced the front two, after I hit a mammoth pothole and took out a wheel, etc).

I think the front two struts were ~5xx together (2xx for the parts, 3xx for the labor).

I'm hearing that the OEM rear struts will be ~5xx EACH.

Does that sound right? Is there a difference in the labor time for rear struts perhaps?

Or in the struts themselves?

The rear dampers are a lot more work to install.

I just replaced my front shocks and rear struts on my 03. I purchased the rear struts from Sewell Lexus. Both rear struts shipped to my door were $343.05. My mechanic installed the struts and the front shocks for $320.00.

The "OES Genuine" are REAL Toyota/KYB struts for the SC430. You can find them for about $210 per strut. Here is a link with price idea and part number....

The rears are going to run you about $100 more per unit.

I received other quotes to replace only the rear struts for $1,000.00.

Is it necessary to do wheel alignment for rear struts replacement ? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
