Default Front door speakers replacement SC430

Hello,

I know there is topic about this. But i couldn't find it. just bought 04 SC430 and frond door speakers "I think they are blew". I went to Frys and they suggest Polk 6x9 4 ohm. Factory speakers are 8 ohms. I was wonder anyone has replaced them before with different ohms.

If so, what brand and model that works.. thanks much

david

I recently replaced the large speaker in the driver's side door. After searching for a decent replacement, I finally bit the bullet and went to the dealer. I have an 05 with Mark Levenson system and, once I had the new speaker, it was a snap to get it in! The difference was amazing! Moral of the story: Stay with OE.

How did you get the DC Gold speakers to fit? I bought a pair and am ready to send them back as they seem way to wide.

It is very common for those speakers to stop working properly without getting blown. What happens is the circular outer rubber comes loose. There is a $20 method to repair it. For my SC ALL the speakers were "blown". There's tutorials on youtube on how to repair it but the guy shows for a lexus ls430. Youtube repair lexus speakers.

I had the same problem with my 2002 SC430. I got them repaired (re-foamed) here is Hollywood for $45 each. Google speaker repair in your area (re-foam, re-edge).

I re foamed mine and they sound better, but I came from having a car with a couple thousand dollar stereo in it, so they still aren't great for me. I may end up replacing them all.

Default Speaker Replacement Thread

This is one of the threads on speakers for the Mark Levinson system: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...n-success.html

Its been quite a while since I had the front speakers re-coned at a top-drawer car stereo shop. I'm still very happy with the result!

Good luck to all on this issue and Cheers!

Mike
