Seems money could be better spent on next vehicle.
THINKING of getting rid of it. Not sure. However, viewing what all have to say about the SC's, may just keep it. Was considering the SLK350.

Thanks for your response.

Thanks, Jerry. I suspected that Lexus would not install anything other than factory. Good to know. I did have the iPod connector installed by Lexus.

I am just not sure where to get Luxlink and have installed in the Dallas, TX area. Hoping a Lexus SC 430 owner in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area will help me on this one!

If I was thinking about changing cars I would look at the Infiniti G37 convertible . Hawt! It has some of the same lines as the SC with more technology and still Japanese, I wonder why I like it so much?

G37C "looks" EXTREMELY nice, I am guessing you haven't drive one yet? The refinement level is world's apart from our SC430, they are in totally different league. Go drive one, you won't like it anymore if you are currently drive a SC430.

Also Nissan cars in general don't age well at all, another huge difference to the legendary SC430. A 50k miles G37C feels like a 250k miles SC430. My sister in law 50k miles 05' G35 is falling apart, clunking and rattling like a rust bucket, I can only imagine how much worse it is if the top is removable. The car was ok with less then 40k miles.

Unless someone has one for sale you are out of luck. The run that was just done is gone. I purchased one and had it installed by JP Importz in Garland - amazing guy, Jason, even took his free Sunday to do my install. If you find a LLink, he'd be the one to see. He did mine, Huy and Derek's this past week. can't say enough about him and his business.

... and the 6 cylinder is surprisingly peppy too!

It would be my #3 choice for a replacement for my SC.

I disagree somewhat. I bought an Infiniti Q45 in the second year of their production in 1992. I drove it for 187K miles and it is still one of the best cars I've ever owned. My Q looked like the day it rolled out of the showroom when I sold it in 2002. The woman who bought it still drives it to this day. It has a LOT to do with the care one gives the machine, the attention to the fit and finish, and how you nourish the interior.

That said, would I trade my SC for a Q37c? Not on your life.

I agreed those 1st generation Q45 was very solid cars, one of my close friend had one so I know the car intimately. That was the most expensive car Nissan ever made at the time during a golden era of Nissan though. The G35/G37 is much lower level, developed when Nissan was almost bankrupt. Apple to orange here.

That's why I said "in general", "overall". I think, from observations, if you compare the same level cars built in the same era, a 92' LS400 would age much better then a 92' Q45. I just drove a 94' LS400 with 250k miles on the original motor/tranny and was amazed at how smooth and solid it still is. The way I judge how good a car last is, I still see early 90s LS400 everywhere on the street, but I almost never see any Q45 anymore. Although I think the quantity sold of the LS400 is much higher then the Q45. Also like you said, you took great care of your Q45, so it lasted long and aged very well, it is not a typical case.

Wholeheartedly agree. A buddy passed his 1992 LS to his housekeeper in 2004 with over 125K miles on it and shes still driving it everywhere. He, like me, is a freak about maintenance and keeping the car like new.

I called my lady friend who bought my Q after my post. She reported that she drove it from Jacksonville, FL to Charlotte, NC last weekend and she says it was still as nice as when she first got it. She has 209K on it now and has only had to fix the AC compressor in addition to the usual and customary maintenance.

I have 6 years on my warranty, CPO and extended, and I'm planning on keeping my Lexus for a long time. That is as long as I can crawl in and out of it!

These older design Lexus that we have, if you take great care of them to keep them in perfect condition, they last much longer then you want to keep them

My 06' SC430 got 55k miles now, I also got a 05' LS430 with 85k miles for my daily grind. I expect both to feel almost as good as they are now when they are 200k miles. I drive 12k miles a year, so it would take me 21 more years to drive both my Lexus to 200k miles. I plan to do that, but I am guessing I might want to switch to something different before the 21 years is up I love them both to death though, nothing on the market right now exceed what they offer at this price

Thanks. After doing some searching, I realized the chance of my locating a Luxlink was "slim to none". Perhaps one will pop up for sale one day. Thanks for letting me and who I should go to if one does happen to show up for sale.
