Default SC430 a head tuner attention getter?

Hi All,

When i had first purchased the SC430 i had heard from some folks about all the attention the car gets. I am by no means seeking attention but suprisingly after almost 2 months of daily driving I have not seen anyone "checking out" the car of giving me any kind of compliments, thumbs up etc. Perhaps this is because there are way to many SC's in my area. I am kind of glad because i prefer it this way, had owned a Dodge Viper GTS in the past and got sick of gawkers and folks always wanting to take pics with it LOL.

I am suprsied though because several members had reported that the SC430 gets noticed

Because the sc430 is mostly for the elderly so young chicks just pass them over. LOL

BS I mentor a couple of 16 year old boys and they love for me to pick them up at school in the SC430. The high school girls love it and the boys feel special. My other car is an Outback and they love to be seen driving away in the SC. Just last spring I overheard one of the girls say. OMG look at the car Dwayne is in. He loved it. Top was down at the time and he was waving as we left.

Well every time I see a SC I almost break my neck trying to get a good look at it.

Guess you didn't get my joke.

But seriously sc430 is designed for old folks driving to the golf course. The suspension, handling and brakes are nowhere near the BMW I have. It is a big heavy cruiser with a unique styling. My BMW is a real driver's car.

When the traffic light turns red, "go topless" and you'll get so much attention.

People often ask me what kind of car this is....
Then again, this is a rare car around here.

It depends A LOT on the color combo though, my very shiny Matador red with Ecru and shiny 07'+ liquid graphite wheel is a very high attention getter, old folks loves the car and young girls love the color on a unique highend looking convertible.

When I park the car on the side of the street with the top down on a sunny day, almost everyone pass by starred at it and give it a double look.

On the other hand my next door neighbor's SC430 that is beat up with faded silver paint, black interior and 04' dull faded silver 5 spoke wheels looks much more dull and probably get much less attentions.

Yes I believe you John, people stared everytime the top being operated already, it would be even more so if there is no one inside the car with the top being remotely operated.

Viper, as a fellow Nova-er, I agree the SC is not so rare in our area. I have a couple in my neighborhood and a at least two that commute on the Toll Road around the same time as I do every day. I still have had a few people compliment me on the car this summer though, most for the Midnight Pine and Saddle color combo. The compliments have not just been from "distinguished" people, but I do think that the older you are the more you tend to appreciate comfort and craftsmanship over outright power. I started early ;-).

Try getting a vanity license plate. I sold my DeLorean and bought the SC430. It is impossible to go anywhere in the DeLorean without people taking out their cell phones to take photographs. I can honestly say that no one has ever taken a picture of my SC430.

The SC is so neat, my nieces and nephews like to hop on it for a ride every single time.

And I oblige.

Priceless!
