Hidden cable under cupholder
Hi!
I was upening the shifter and saw that under the cupholder was an powercable. Also this cable looks like it fits undernetch the cupholder. I guess this is if you have some kind of special installment done by Lexus. Does anyone know that this is used for. The Powercable connection is roughly 2 cm wide (I actually don't remember exacbly) and a perfect match underneath the cupholder.
I had a carphone installed earlier by Lexus and that used a smaller powerconector. I am thinking about installing a GPS based car alarm but need a cigarette lighter to power the GPS receiver. I was thinking about either using the small poweradapter for the old carphone or using this 2 cm poweradapter, but would like to know if anyone knows what is is there for.
Kind Regards

I believe that power cable [ It snaps into a empty hollow cut out in the cup holder ] was for what they call in the shop manual a mayday device. The shop manual calls it that as well. I think the mayday device is cell based. I think it was in use in europe. It could also be part of the former fee based lexus information like northstar that once was an option prior to 2005 and then was discontinued . Hope this helps . Anyone else chime in.
