Default Neiman Marcus #33 on eBay

The Buy It Now price is $33,000, just my opinion it's worth only 26k tops! Being offered at a Lexus dealer in Kansas City. Any takers?

Well # 36 is on sale for 23k but has twenty thousand more miles, I think the dealer is crazy to want $33,900. A nine year old car, the first thing I'd do is change the timing belt. That's more money you have to factor in.

When I was looking on eBay to buy mine, I emailed a bunch of those dealers. It seems like they are paying too much for these cars and trying to pass it to the consumer. They should know that eBay isn't the place to sell overpriced cars

Right on, why Lexus dealers don't price their used cars realistically is beyond me !

Hmmm, that may be worth remembering when the time comes to upgrade to another vehicle (hopefully another SC).

Yeah, that's an absurd price. I doubt they really expect to get that price, that's why they have the option of "making an offer".

After a car gets so old, the market eventually disregards the low mileage and the fair price pretty much winds up being what any other '02 would be, plus a few hundred extra maybe for being a rare Neiman Marcus with exceedingly low mileage.

In reality, the car is still nearly 10 years old and will have all the maintenance issues of a 10 year old car. I'd pay no more than $20k for the car, and probably $18k would be more like it.

No matter how much someone's heart may want it, it's simply stupid to pay higher than book value for any car. To do otherwise simply guarantees that you lose money as soon as you sign the dotted line.

With that being said, I've always wondered what a pristine, collectible car like this would be worth in say.....40 years. If someone is in it as a collector, a higher price may well pay off.

I saw that too. I have an alert set on eBay to let me know when a new SC is listed. I thought it was nice, but not $33K nice...

+1. I don't even try them anymore. I could not get within 10k when I bought my LS from a dealer, 6k on my SC.

I hate to disagree, but it is worth at least $40K+. It has a LuxLink installed.

Default VPP is a sham

For anyone purchasing a vehicle on eBay, make sure you fully understand what VPP will and won't pay for. They have a myriad of vague restrictions that can be "adjusted" to pretty much disavow any claim they choose not to pay. "Of course it's your trip, but please be forewarned there is a warning out on that one."

This is not the classified section folks. You want to sell a car or buy a car. Use that section please.
