Default Mark Levinson Door speakers from 2nd Gen IS

I was just thinking what if we used the 6.5" door speakers from the new 2nd Generation ISx50's ML system... or even any newer model ML system. i'm pretty sure i could find a set from a junkyard.. buy some 6x9 adapters and it should work right? since the ML system runs at 8Ohm. I used to own a IS250 those door speakers were superb and they definitely look like better quality then our 6x9's which won't deteriorate from time. what do you guys think? has anyone ever considered it? does anyone have the specs on the newer door speakers? depth wise? so it doesnt hit our window?

great idea- to be honest my non ML is250 set up sounds better to me than the one in my sc430...could be age of the speakers?

I think that would make a great swap especially if you get them on the cheap.

I think I would keep everything ML as original drivers or change everything, including the amp except for the head unit. Actually, that is what I have started doing. After actually seeing the ML speakers front and back, and holding them, I think it a amazing the sound as good as they do. JL Audio drivers for me with a 500.5 amp.

the drivers on the 06+ cars though are much better, i think even the ML drivers for the SC were not of great quality- for now though the sound is enough for me since i added the sub in the back. when one blows though ill try this idea out.

I agree, my 1991 Soarer (JDM) sounds 200% better than the stock ML in the SC430.

ML sucks.. I cant believe how crappy they are made on the SC. Has anyone every taken out the subwoofer? From the front is looks decent but when you see whats behind it you cant believe its a sub.

well its because ML was paid to design the best sounding system for the amount of money Lexus had budgeted for it. Take that for what its worth- at least it was standard, i do however hear that the ML on the IS series 06+ was alot better. I know it was actually all digital (non ML is analog) and added a center channel + dvd changer instead of the cd changer.
