Default Front Plate - do you care?

After getting my third parking ticket for no front plate ($25 each), I've got to install it. I have Lexus bracket in the trunk, so my question is, is it worth $50 for the Skene bracket that drills under the bumper instead of putting holes in the bumper? My guess is that I'm leaving it on until I sell the car; would any buyers really care? Here's the Skene:

I think this might be an age thing. I am older and have not had a front license plate on my cars for 20 years. But it does depend on the car. I have had at least 3 cars at the same time, The wifes infiniti and my van have front plates but my 430 does not, and before that my PT cruiser, 3 del sols, and my 300 Z all had no front plates-never been pulled over for any of them. My sons (when they were teenagers) were frequently pulled over for it. yep-age thing.

i'd had my car about a month when i got a warning ticket for no front plate. the 1st owner drove it two years without one. just my bad luck. I just used the lexus bracket that was also still in the trunk. It doesn't look bad...i just never thought about it until the HP cop in front of me slammed on his brakes and whipped in behind me. What a criminal offense!!!
Don't know about "age thing".
I'm 62 and the previous owner was a female and the women's track coach at UT.

The guy before me drilled holes for the front license. I wish he didn't since I don't need a front license in PA, now there are two holes in the bumper

We are so fortunate here in GA, no front plates required.

I've always done so in Texas, but I know of lots of people who have gotten tickets. I guess because my sports cars get driven so little over the years, they have less chance of being caught.

My company car has one on it, but my other daily driver doesn't (FX35). For $25 I might still gamble!

In TX, I went for years without plates. But, as with any stressed economy, laws will be enforced when needed, right?

Regardless, I ended up putting my plates back on my GS400 and SC430. It was actually worth it, because now I pull up to a 4-way stops stress free.

However, on both vehicles, I lowered the plates about an inch or so. That seemed to help to car look a lot better. The OEM plate location seems to be too high for me...partially covering the grill on the SC430 and a chrome decorative strip on the GS400.

If I get real computer savvy, I'll try and post pics.

oh...and another thought: i have seen hide-away front plate devices. My friend with a G35 has one...press a button and it folds down and slides away from view. I am sure it is costly, but sometimes aethetics are worth it. Otherwise, we'd all still be driving on SC430 OEM wheels?

I'm with Redliner8, the previous owner was from NY, and needed the front plate. When we bought the car they had a Lexus CPO plastic plate thingy on the front, covering the holes. They were the biggest holes ever. I was going to get factory painted bumper plugs, but there were four holes. Scrap that idea. So I went with the Lexus plates mount and added a small Lexus L plate.

I kind of like the Lexus mini-plate in the front like SteadyEddy.

Be careful - I always knew to avoid LAX and Downtown LA, just got cited in Encino and in Toluca Lake! Money in the meter, no other problem, just the missing plate. So annoying. Must be the economy. No issues in the prior 3 years.

I've been driving for 11 years and have had the front license plate on all those years. I don't want to deal with all the hassle from it.
