2007 Rims on a Red/Ecru 2002
I got a deal on a set of 2007 SC430 OEM rims. It is time to replace the worn out tread on the original rims and I would like to upgrade but I am afraid that the darker almost Charcoal Gray on the 2007 Rims will make it look like my rims are dirty all of the time.
Does anyone out there have a photo of these rims on a 2002-2004 in that color so I could decide without installing them?

Send me the 2007 rims and stay with your current rims...LOL! Or try photoshop...

The cars look so similar that you could probably look at a pic of a 2007 and it would be pretty accurate as to what it would look on your vehicle...I'll keep an eye out for a pic though and post if I find one. IMO, the liquid graphite wheels give a nice depth to the car not the 'dirty' look. But to each his own, GL with the decision!

Problem solved: Just buy these chrome center caps and never look back!!!

Absolutely red is a fairly rare color and was only produced from 02-05 Being a former AR owner, I can tell you as few of them that are on here, even less of them have had any mods. I had aftermarket rims on mine, but I can honestly say that I have not seen someone with the 06+ wheels on a AR color. I bet it would be awesome with the chrome center caps above. They will make all the difference!!!

I'll consider the chrome caps... I don't mind the brushed ones that are on them though right now.
I saw a dark blue one with the gun-metal rims that looked great but for some reason, when I put the new rims next to the car, it just doesn't say Wow. One of the guys on this list has a set of staggered 5 spoke rims on his white SC but I don't have anywhere near the cash I need for those.
The main reason I am so gun-shy is that years ago I put a lot of effort into finding a set of chrome Eldorado Wheels for my Red 88 Allante and although they looked good on the burgundy Eldorado they looked gangster on the bright red Allante.... If I wouldn't have a shop and my own tire machine at the time I would have been an owner of a set of rims that didn't look good on the car.
After that I chromed a set of 944 Cookie cutter wheels, they were ok but it wasn't the best decision. The earlier 5 spoke wheels that normally had black spokes on the 944 took chrome a lot better.

Down here, Absolute Red doesn't seem that uncommon... maybe it is just the South Florida Market.
I looked for quite some time to find one I could afford and since I only wanted Red/Ecru that made it even tougher. I came close to getting a pearl white/saddle tan 2005 but I am glad I waited... my bank account does too...

Here's my "gangster" first SC, called Alexa. IMO these wheels were great! I think I paid $1200 for wheels, tires, lugs, etc. brand new balanced ready to go. I want to say the wheels alone you can still buy today for $500-$700. Is your deal better than that? And better looking? These were staggered setup...285/25/20 rear and 245/30/20 in front I believe.
I only see a red SC about every 20 or so SC's in Dallas. Not too many...only one is modded at all that I've seen (other than my old one).
See I think the old school elorado in general is gangster. I love it though! LOL nothing like that pearl white with chrome rims...eldo coupe or allante. Not sure about eldo rims on an allante.
On the 944 why didn't you put on 968 wheels or 911 turbine wheels?
chrome is not for everyone, i love it, but I understand to each his/her own. Some people love the "murdered out" look or the graphite or just stock/clean or polished. It's a personal taste.

Who ended up with Alexa? Have you ever seen Alexa again?
I have always wanted to see old cars I have sold but no luck.

I'm shopping for the best source/price for OEM stock rims (only need one) for my '02 SC430. Have a cracked rim which is leaking air. Dealer wanted $650 for a new one installed, but will accept me supplying the rim and only charge $30 to flip out (plus other costs, ballancing and tax) Has anyone used All Factory before?
