Great write up! Do you have any suggestions if I wanted to replace the mids? Any particular model? watts? ohms?

thanks mandy, that website only has one choice for the replacement mid speakers (2-5/8") and they are $450...yikes. Any other options out there?

Default SC430 Door Removal Word Document

Thanks guys for the great info on Door Removal and Speaker Repair. I have taken the Liberty of putting the instructions and Photos into a word document so someone can print them out and keep them by their side while removing a door panel.

Well thanks! I need to do my rears soon (I did my sub repair years ago, I should have done the rears at the same time). When I did my SUB repair, I cleaned my seat belts!

So I stumbled on these speakers and I believe they are the perfect replacement speakers for the doors. They are 8ohm and 6x9, which are the perfect OEM specs. They are cheap, but compared to the OEM Mark Levinson speakers, they are worth a try. Anyone looking to replace, might give these a try and report back. Magnet looks larger than the OEM so must have some good deep bass. Anyway, I would try them but I'm mid project to make a custom set of JL Audio speakers fit into the doors. Hope someone will take the leap and report back here.

Ps... i know they are a "low name" brand, but I've found some pretty good products that I use regularly that are "no name" or "low name," in my everyday struggles.

They may be too deep. I think you have to stay under 3 inches. These are over 4 inches. Someone else may know for sure.

I've installed aftermarket Rockford Fosgates 6.5" and they fit fine and they have a huge magnet. I can only assume these should fit also. But with such a low price and free returns, worth the test for anyone in the market, I think.

I replaced my ovals (door) to the 6.5's Rockfords, too. I forgot if I actually did a DIY on it, I think I did.
