If you're looking for a coupe and doesn't tell you how fast you're going, then I would say that's a great buy!!!
In all seriousness, would you really want to buy something that has THAT much work to be done? i would stay away regardless of its asking price. Many reliable SCs out there you can go after.

might wanna pay and have it checked out at a toyota/lexus dealer to figure out the roof, if its the computer thats in the trunk that controls it those are on ebay pulled off totaled cars as well as speedo clusters.
So it really does just depend on the price. I mean if he wants 10gs for it yes take it lol. I paid 30k for my 04 w/ 86xx miles on it in December.

It's an 02 with 31,000 miles and all that stuff is wrong with it. It's been rode hard and put away wet. And I don't even know what the price is. If they didn't fix the broken stuff, they probably were doing the regular maintenance either. I'd stay away unless you're handy or the price is sooooo low you just can't walk away.

Hmmm... since the odometer EPROM is built into the speedometer it would be very prudent to take the car for a drive and see if it changes. If not, there's no telling how many miles are on the car. The retractable roof issue is not that important. Plugging in and pulling trouble code(s) will point to problem which could be a simple as fuse or as expensive as one or more motors burned out. As for maintenance I'd do two things. First get the owners story, then get the VIN and check online to verify. Depending on the outcome, you'll know if you want to spend time negotiating or running away as fast as you can.

Buyer beware at that price...the car definitely needs a complete going over, preferably by someone who knows SC430 in and out.
