steering wheel controls
Has anybody out there ever put in an aftermarket kenwood stereo and made the steering wheel controls to control the radio? If so, please reply.

There is no steering wheel control adaptor available for the SC because the communication between the SW control and the OEM radio is "data based" not "resistor based" like most aftermarket radios.
In order to make it work, you will need to have the SW control modified with a new internal circuit with different resistance values for each fonction, and an adaptor to "translate" the output into "Kenwood language"...
Not plug and play....

Avoid Kenwood
After much research and at great expense, I installed a Kenwood DNX8120 in an '04 Audi S4 convertible. Unfortunately, the the 8120 has a number of software/firmware issues that require resolution, e.g., its Garmin GPS no longer displays street and highway names. Apparently, Kenwood has no plans to issue a firmware/software to resolve this and other issues. Given this lack of support, I will never purchase a Kenwood unit again.
