I know this is covering some very old ground but it appears that the earlier Sirius radios that did not need a docking station are not available anymore. I would like to add Sirius to our '02 SC and put it in the ashtray location.

My question is whether there is enough room behind the ashtray it to mount both the radio and the docking station for a receiver like the Sirius Stratus 6 ? Seems the docking station will add about .5" to the depth and .5" to the width.

I put a Sirius Starmate (I think like a Starmate 3 or 4) in my ashtray and it BARELY fit.

I've seen the newer ones with the docking stations...I'd be surprised if it fit.

You're probably better off finding an older Starmate on eBay or something.

In fact, mine's still in my ashtray because I mucked up the ashtray installing it so, if I take it out, there's a big hole there...so I just left it installed when I put in the CarPC.

I was pretty sure the newer models would not fit with the docking station either but wanted to confirm. I'll check e-Bay and see what I can dig up.
