Default Front end suspension squeaks

Hi. Mostly in the mornings when the car is still cold, I hear an awful lot of squeaks and creks from the front end of the car, as I go over bumps, turn, etc. I cna even make the noises if I get out and go put my wieght on one side or the other of the front.

The brake/tire/suspension store told me it is not a big deal and it probably are the bushings, and that they would fix it after my brakes and alignment were done, but apparantly they forgot. I can take it back, or preferably, if someone here knows how I can fix it, I can fix it myself.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Check the hood. You can adjust the hood stops. Sounds like front end parts...

you think that's it? I guess it is easy enough to test. if it doesn't do it when the hood is open, then its the hood stops...

Actually it's the hood latch. The hood stops just keep the hood from moving.

I have the squeaks also from the front right side. I tried the hood stops awhile back and it still happens. Probably the struts or the bushings for me. Too bad it you have to buy the whole control arms to replace the bushings, what a rip.

Can't you just buy a replacement bushing kit? Part 2002-02 on this page. That's what I was planning to do as I just got my SC430 and there are so many horrible noises coming from the front end. One of the upper control arm bushings is almost entirely gone.

If I can't find someone local or in DFW to do it, I was just going to try to cut them out with a hole/drywall saw. I've done it on other cars, I assume it's possible on these...

The control arm bushings are still $100 bucks each, but I guess that's a bit cheaper than the auto shop.. They quoted me around $500 to replace both left and right control arms.

Thanks for the link.

No problem. I think the $100 covers all the bushings for left/right and upper/lower control arms so it should be a lot cheaper than the $500.

No, I'm about 90 miles from Dallas but if I can't find anyone around here I'll try up there. Thanks for the tip, haven't heard of them before - I just got my SC so I'm pretty new to the Lexus world.

I have experienced this problem ever since I had the fron suspension replaced. The lexus dealer has checked this twice and swears all the suspension componenets are tight. The frustrating thing is that it only happens in the morning when it is cold. Keep us informed of your progress.

Someone please help me out here. My 03 sc430 squeaks real bad in the rear so i took it to the local crap tread quarters they told me it was my rear upper control arms and bushings because the rubber boot protecting the joint was split open and the grease was gone. Unfortunetly i heard you cant grease this part of the car so i need to get new upper control arms and bushings. They did temporarly grease the joints and so far so the squeak has gone away completey but not for long. They told me it was like putting a band aid on a broken bone it will come back. So they told me its going to cost around 2000.00 to replace them haha i said jump off a cliff i;ll shop around. They want 725 for each control arm at the dealer. Other places wanted to charge me around 800 for each part. Plus the alignment and install. I dont know were to go. Has anyone out there replaced control arms on the 430?????????????? did the squeak go away?????????? how much was it???????????????????????
