Default Maintenance Schedule

I purchased an 06 SC430 with 12,200 miles on it late last week. I soon discovered this forum and have spent lots of time here reading about these cars. This is my first post. I have seen or heard conflicting information on the maintenance schedule for the SC430. Does anyone have an electronic version of the schedule or a link to the official schedule. Sorry but all I got with the car was the owners manual. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi UnSub.....welcome to CL!

Yes, just go to....

http://drivers.lexus.com

Touch the "My Lexus" tab with your cursor and pull down to "Vehicle Resources."

Then click on "Find Your Owner's Manual Online".

Put in your model and year and the kind of document you're looking for. You can look for the Owner's Manual, the Navigation Manual, the Maintenance Manual, or just put it on "All Documents" and it'll bring up more information than you've ever wanted to know. The Scheduled Maintenance Guide will be the first listed.

It's all in pdf form and can be downloaded to your computer.

Good luck!

Interestingly, looking at the Maintenance Guides for various years of the SC 430, I noticed that the recommended maintenance intervals are not always consistent with year models.

For instance, the 2002 Maintenance Guide says to replace the timing belt at 6 years or 90,000 miles. However, the 2007 Maintenance Guide says to replace the timing belt at 9 years or 90,000 miles.

I've always heard the 6 years/90k intervals for the timing belt. But the guide for the 2007 clearly shows 9 years, or 90k.

Of course, we're all probably going to go with whatever our favorite service person recommends, right?

Congrates on your purchase and welcome. I guess we do whatever we are comfortable with as far as service. We look at the suggestion and go from there. At least I do.

As mentioned, the LEXUS.COM website will give you what you need.
Register your car and you'll have access to the dealer service records (and update the service record on-line).

If you don't have an Owner's Manual LEXUS will send you one free.

The maintenance schedule for your specific car is there in .pdf format.

Upper left on the web page under service.

Welcome to the family.

There is a wealth of information posted on this site... use the SEARCH menu above and the Advanced Search features to find most of it.

And, as xfea mentioned, if you go the the My Lexus site https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-lexus/home.do you can register your new car by VIN and see its maintenance history if was done at a authorized dealer.

Thank you for the kind welcome and all the information. I was amazed to be able to see my car's past service information. I added an oil change, air filter change and cabin air filter change. Tomorrow I will add a change of all tires. No more note pads!
