Wind Noise
Someone else posted their suspicion about wind noise coming from a torn gasket around the window. This gasket is just above the mirrow and when the window is raised it pushes up into the gasket. It is visible only when the door is open. A slight rip had developed in the drivers side on my car. I noticed a small wind noise and after reading the previous thread decided to have the dealership replace the gasket. Result, noise gone.

I actually ordered this front door weather stripping component. How much did the dealer charge for the installation or was it under warranty?
I'm also beginning to think that this part or weather stripping was not designed properly. More specifically the materials in the rubber should have been stronger, or they should have increased the height of the section where the window comes in contact with it by about 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch. There is simply to much stress on it and almost always tears.

FYI - I received the weather stripping part today and called Lexus to find out how much they would charge for the part and installation. They gave me a very low quote, so I told them I would be right over. I also told them I did not believe they were correct on the quote that included the part. I explained to the service attendant, I really like the car, but if there is one part that I don't think was designed correctly, it was this one. Long-story they did not have the part in stock, so they installed my part at no cost. Thumbs up to the local dealer here, and yes, the wind noise is gone!

Mine was a waranty repair so no charge. I agree with your assessment that it is a bad design. The rubber does not go up high enough so the window will always try to push thru the top. I expect it to wear out again in a few years, however it is totaly fixed now.
