Default 245/35/20 on 20X10.5 rims??

Does this seem correct?

I thought something more like 285s would be ideal?

The dealer selling me the rims told me the 245s are VIP style.

Your thoughts?

I wouldn't go anything smaller than 275/285 on a 10.5 IMO. I have 275's on my 10" rears

I run 275's on 11's.. tires are stretched..you might as well put electrical tape around your rims if he says to run 245's

Did either of you have to do any work to get them to fit? The link I posted above states that only the front had to have work (minor fender work) done. It uses 20X9.5 and I was told it uses 235/30/20.

this is not uncommon. not safe and not recommended but people do it for the "VIP" look. stretched tires to prevent rub and to tuck. the price u gotta pay to "stun"....

yeah that ride seems like it would be very uncomfortable, especially if the road isnt perfectly smooth. and wouldn't you be much more likely to bend your rims.

Thanks guys for the replies.

I've found some good reads on stretching tires. I would think it's not safe, but people are writing that drifters run streched tires and you can't be any harder on a car. But most of the reading is from people who prefer to stretch - so in 1 hour of reading at those sites vs just a couple of reading minutes in this thread I am learning more bad stuff about it here! Thanks!

Can you also post pics? I've seen them before but can't seem to find them. And what offset are they?

That one brought a smile my way, but agree. I'm not into VIP anyhow, but 245s on that large a rim....not safe. How much air is needed to make it bead up?
