Painting Headlights Help
I went to a few body shops about painting my front headlights, and found out I have to break the seal to paint them. Is there any reason I can't break the seal while on the car, and paint them without all the work?

No you need to heat all the way around the glass. Only way I could think of is like the heated coils you use for underheated flooring. Dont forget you also have to heat it up again to put the glass back in.
End of the day it will be easier to take the headlights out, but it is a PITA or I would have done mine.
Theres some vids from Advanced automotive concepts on youtube that show how its done.

Just a thought....many of you have commented that you want the look of the 05 pebble beach with the black inside. Have you tried to look for the housings on sewell parts or other OE parts sites?
You can buy SOME PB parts (not mats unfortunately) online...like the red seats, badges, touch up paint for the rare colors, etc. Just a thought.
Those lens would look great on lucky bastard since he does look almost black. I was surprised just how dark pine cars are. Unless you are in bright direct sunglight it totally looks black.
I'm all about working smart too, but I can't think of any other way to do it. I took my rear tails off my 91 300Z twin turbo once and put them in the oven to switch out the amber blinkers to white and it worked great. Some wizard on that forum figured out how to do it...it was at like 450 degrees. Ouch! Nacho Taillights! Be careful!

Well there was a funny story on here while back. Guy wanted pebble beach lights on the cheap and we including myself all said no way unless you spend a fortune at the steeler.
Anyway he got some couple days latter on eBay.

oven the lights. there are companies that can do it for you. lightingmods.net is who did mine. his name is dave. inside the light is a plastic cover. it snaps out and you pain it, put the cover back inside, and ship them back to be sealed. they slide them back in the oven, put some additional sealer around it and clamp them shut for a day. i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself even if they have tutorials on youtube.
