FINISHED SC430 WIDEBODY PROJECT, thank you to everyone and i hope you like it...
I dont really know where to begin thanking people, but i guess this is as good a spot as any.
I never joined Club Lexus to find out the newest colors for 2010, or who had an issue with their bluetooth not working, or to see who "thinks lexus is the best car on the road", or any other BS. I joined, selfishly, to pick your brains about a car i was considering building, and find out answers to some very silly, maybe "inane" questions i had during this build. In turn, i found a lot of individuals who wanted to see something different. And i found a lot of people who really genuinely wanted to help, not just me, but anyone who had an issue or question or concern.
to that, i thank you.
so you had to put up with some questions from me like:
what coilovers do you all use?
who has replaced their nav system?
aftermarkey intelligent key anyone?
who has a custom exhaust? how?
whats the offset for 20" wheels
anyone crack open the headlights? issues?
why the upgrade to the 2006 lights?
well, all your answers shaped this vehicle. and for those of you following along, here is what happened (i will try to give you the cliffs notes). I started with a conversation with Leigh at BRS Autodesign. i originally was planning on making a G35 coupe TARGA twin turbo widebody car. a mouthful, right? i heard BRS had a drawing and might make one and i wanted in. to my chagrin, it wasnt in the pipeline, YET, and in the meantime we had this SC430 kit he wanted to get onto the market. long story short, next week i bought and SC. from the START i knew what paint combination and colors i wanted, as well as design, so I hope you like.
after talking with you guys about the aftermarket i was going to need, the guys at megan racing teamed up with me on coilovers and took my stock set to make a new set for YOU GUYS, which will be available soon. the prototype is on the vehicle and i hope you guys like it. i know i do.
as for brakes, Sam at WP Pro took great care of me and was super helpful, and we decided to show off the new 12 piston caliper system. it. will. knock. the gum. out. of. your. mouth.
he worked with DPE wheels to design a new colored wheel for the car using an existing platform they make, and the outcome is very nice, and very well made.
APR hooked me up with a new wing for the GTR which took some time to get to fit correctly (and you will notice we shaved the OEM wing, which actually looked really nice, i suggest you do it) but works very very well.
some other things we did/are doing currently to the car include:
shaving the mirrors. those are chargespeed in case you want them (but i found out a little too late there is no up and down adjustment....boo)
aerocatch hood locks
custom HID high beam projectors
projector turn signals (i still get a kick out of those)
shaved side markers
upgraded kenwood nav system
CDT audio speakers, subs and amps
AFTERMARKET INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM WITH PROXIMITY AND PUSH BUTTON START (check out www.letscar.com)
back up camera and parking sensors
much more to come.
as you can see, those questions i asked?? i listened. tomorrow she goes to sound for 2-3 weeks before the Auto Rama to get the back seats fitted with custom fiberglass enclosures. the trunk will get the same for the amps and that will round out the electronics.
AFTER THAT, the car has ONE MORE STOP, and that is to get the Turbo installed. I am still finalizing details with 2 turbo companies who want to get involved, but things are moving slowly. so any suggestions guys? anyone you know have the right "in" somewhere? let me know. Slick Motorsport here in Cleveland is up to the task for the install, and i suggest if you like the finished product you hit them up. The companies who seemed interested in assisting me have fallen off the planet it seems, but i appreciated their support none the less.
even though she is not DONE done, you guys requested pics, so here it is. I really do hope you like because it wouldnt have happened without your input and your support. when the first photo shoot happens i will get you guys better pics. till then you have to settle for my sub-par point and shoot.
thank you again and i appreciate all your support.....
