Default Michelin Primacy MXV4

Hello Everyone,
I know the young "harsh ride" guys may roll their eyes at this but,
I see these tires on Discount Tires website and the closest size to
245/40R18 is 245/45R18.
I realize this tire would be appx 1" taller overall and the tire revolutions
per mile would be lower, 780 vs 809 at 45mph compared to OEM.
This would in effect make the car perform a little lazier off the line
and affect the speedo some but would these tire fit without
any tire/vehicle contact (rubbing)?

These cars, although they perform well, are more for the ride quality
and reliability than they are corner burning. I think these tires with
their 60,000 mile warranty would last longer than the origianal equipment
sized tires that I have researched and with slightly taller sidewalls may ride a
little better also. They are "V" rated (like we really need that anyway with
JAIL Time here in Tennessee with any tickets 100MPH or over! LOL!).

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Brian

It's a great tire, for some reason you'll only get around 45k when runnning on a SC430. They will definitely last a lot longer than the OEM tire. Good luck

The Yokohama YK520s have the right dimensions and have a 60k mile warranty also. They will likely be my next tires. Another member (Big Mack) has the Yokohamas and really likes them.

tromly,
By your response you seem imply you have had these specific tires (245-45-18)on your SC430?
If so, did you have any tire/body panel clearance issues?
Did you notice any acceleration degradation?
What about handling? Did the taller sidewall make it "wander" more at highway
speeds and was the ride any better?

Sorry for all the questions. I am a research before purchase fanatic sometimes. LOL!

God Bless,
Brian

Sorry Brian, I have Bridgestone Potenza RE960As 245/40/R18. A friend of mine in FL runs the Michelins, he loves them, says there's only rubbing in reverse during a full turn and the ride was better than than the Potenza. Handling was great and the noise level very good. Good luck
