Headlights turn off on their own while driving
I have a 2007 and I've just developed my first problem since I purchased the car new in 2007. While driving, my headlight(s) will turn off by themselves.
Sometimes it's the right one, sometimes it's the left one, and sometimes they will both stop working. Turning the headlight switch off and then on brings them back to life.
Can anyone tell me what part in the headlight system is causing this?

First, check your blade fuses under the driver's kick plate or the pass. kick plates. If they're all good then it might be the ballasts that gone bad. You're still under warranty. Take it to the dealer and get it fixed for free.

UPDATE-- seems like my problem was just a fuse. There are like 5 fuses to consider and 1 of them (the last one I looked at) was blown. Thank God I didn't have to bring it to the dealer ($$$). Really dodged a bullet! haha

Hey bud,
I'm having a similar issue with my 2007 gs350. I wanted to know where you located those 5 fuses and which one was it that you replaced.

I have the same issue with my 06 SC...first the right headlight did it for a while, then the left, and sometimes both go out. I also do the light switch off/on to get them back on...was it your fuse?

I'm the OP on this 3 plus year old thread. Sorry, I didn't realize I never updated the thread with the findings on my headlights issue.
I did take the car to the dealer under warranty and was told that both headlight bulbs were going bad and both needed replacing. I thought that this was a bogus diagnosis, but after replacing both headlight bulbs under warranty, the problem has never again occurred.
Here is the funny, or nauseating part, of the whole issue. When I was told that the dealer was replacing the headlight bulbs under warranty, I asked them how much the bulbs were (3 years ago) and the Service Writer at Lexus told me they were $675.00 per bulb. I said, "how can you even tell me that with a straight face" he said, I guess it's because they're cheap considering a new bulb in an LS460 is over $1,000. Holy Crap! How far do they think we will bend over?
