Top down drivin' music
Now that summer's here for the rest of the world (down here in Fla it only left for a few days!!!), I thought I'd ask for opinions regarding favorite top down, blast the music, tunes. So far one of my favorites has been U-2 "Beautiful Day."
Recently had a great little spin over the Sunshine Skyway bridge, which is a spectacular suspension bridge across the mouth of Tampa Bay. Put on the tune, hit about 120 going up the bridge, and we won't discuss the speed on the way down the other side. Only problem was flapping rear seat belts. If I could just get them to flap with the same beat as the music .....
Other great tune suggestions?

Hey 1Nice........do you love the smell of napalm in the morning as well ?
How about "Time is Tight" by Booker T. and the MG's ? Great top down cruising music. Also stuff by UB40.

Larry ...
LOL ... I forgot all about that scene.
Fortunately, I've never had the "opportunity" to smell napalm ... at any time of the day - thank God.
Still like Wagner, though - all that "sturm und drang"

Sorry Ed, I just had to through that in. Napalm smells like a kerosene/jetfuel (to me anyway....). I have lots of kero lamps that I keep lamp oil in. The smell of the other stuff triggers old thoughts.
Listening to the Yankees while driving ? Where do you keep the bottle of beer and the hotdogs ?

Larry, we are generations apart. If I had to listen to the music you did, or vice versa there probably wouldnt be two smiling faces. As for the Yankees, no I dont like hot dogs or beer for that matter.....but the Yankees......thats another story. Besides shouldnt everyone be driving around listening to talk radio and NPR?

I suspect Mark Levinson would not be happy to know his speakers are being used to listen to Car Talk on NPR...
How about the first SEAL album...
"No, were never gonna survive unless... we get a little... Crazy."

What ?? You don't like Beer or Hot Dogs ? What about Mom and Apple Pie ?
I'm kidding of course. Please don't take offense.
As far as music from the 70's.......well, let's hope the "Archies" never have a comeback. There is an awful lot of good stuff from then that's timeless......Hendrix, Led Zep, ZZ Topp (still around), AC/DC and a host of others. I also like a lot of todays music. I can still play a pretty mean riff on my Fender.

Perfect top down, cruising music: Barenaked Ladies first album and Lenny Kravitz - any album...hmmm, how about the Lenny's album labeled "5". That should do it
Or, if you're in the mood, Linkin' Park has some good and interesting rock songs Then again Jazz always rules sunny days (count basic is the only one that immediately come to mind)
