Here is my review of the custom luggage discussed in this thread. I'm not associated with this company in any way. I received my custom fit luggage today (3 day shipping).

To test if I could fit clothes for a typical trip, I laid out (3) pair slacks, (3) long sleeve shirts, (2) Polo shirts, (1) sports jacket, (1) henley sweather, (1) shoes, (3) socks, (3) underwear, (3) tees, (1) swim suit, (1) tie and (1) shaving kit.

It easily fit in the two pieces of luggage and did not pull the zippers tight.

As expected, it fits nicely in the truck ready for the top to come down with room on each side.

This luggage seems well built and will completely replace the canvas bags I used to use. It's 28" length allows me to drape the sports jacket in without folding the tail. I don't think this luggage will wrinkle the clothes any worse than traditional luggage and definitely less than the canvas bags. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Hi Poqman,

Thanks for the write-up & the photos.

Do you feel that this luggage takes care of your clothing as good as 'standard' commercial luggage?

Although it looks like it all really comes down to this: All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Now to start saving my nickles & dimes.

Hi JerryB...Not quite as well since it is soft sided like a dufel bag. If what you are packing is not subject to breakage or subject to moisture, then it is adequate for protecting the clothes from rips or dirt. I liked that I could drape the clothes in the luggage because it is 28" long. This allowed me to load the clothes without a center crease and thus less wrinkles.

I just ordered a set. I have a 350 mile jaunt home in two weeks for my 45th HS class reunion, and hope the bags arrive in Baltimore in time to use them.

Have fun at your 45th reunion. We just had our 40th reunion and it was a blast. Reunions definitely turn back the clock.

I agree that those bags look great, and i am considering a set for myself.
When I first got the car in 2001, I soon discovered two things: hard sided rectangular luggage takes up too much room in the oddly shaped trunk, and soft sided canvas bags will fit into all kinds of shapes.
With the top up, there is a lot of room for additional canvas bags (including garment bags lying flat) in between the wheels and going up. There is a surprising amount of height available for bags between where the roller would go and the bottom of the trunk lid. I've taken many trips with all the luggage for two packed into the trunk, leaving the back seat free for a pillow and a cooler.
Since I dumped the runflats, however, and now add in a spare for road trips, I'm not sure if I can use these bags very often. I sure wish they had been around in 2001.

Hey Poqman - refunded your shipping as discussed, since you were not aware of the free shipping promotion :
