Actually, they have been selling the SC430 since the year 2001 since it was launched as an early 2002 model :

2001 ..........................................14,326
2002 ..........................................14,462
2003 ..........................................10,298
.

You are correct, however the question was...."i need a breakdown of the number of Lexus SC430's sold in the USA since it debuted in 2002"

The way I read it, I think he means the 2002 model year, because the car actually debuted in the year 2001, during spring ...

When looking at the early years, you need to keep in mind that the 2002 "model" went on sale in mid-April of 2001 (I picked up mine on May 1). Therefore, 2002 models will be higher than average because they were on the market for about 18 months, not just 12. And when looking at sales by calender year, 2001 will be lower than average because sales did not start until mid-April. At that time, however, they were sold out long before they hit the dealers' lots. When I picked up mine in southern Ohio, there were 150 on the waiting list behind me (each of whom paid a deposit of $1,000.00 for the place on the list) and the dealer was getting about 10 per month. (I should have ordered two; during the first six months or so of ownership, I could have sold it as a used car very quickly for a profit of several thousand dollars.)

Wow, it is no wonder that Lexus is rumored to be considering discontinuing the SC430 with low and declining numbers like those.

It would seem that just about everybody that wants one has one by now.
I hope that, next, Lexus tries something completely different.
We shall see.

Does anyone have figures for 2009 and 2010?

I wish I'd traded my 2009 in for the 2010 to get Sirus XM radio... oh well....

Met a guy while i was as the dealership last week getting a serp belt. He comes up to me and says, "nice car, I liked them so much i have 2 of them. One here (az) and another at my home in mn."

I think he said an 05 and an 08.
