So i was just wondering.. serious question here.. What is your idol supposed to be at when you at a red light?? Cause i kind of figure mines low? Cause its under the 1rpm but i mean way down.. like half way..


Also.. Do you guys warm up your car in the morning like around 9am before you take off and for how long?

When the car is cold I idle around 900-1200 depending on the situation.

Once the car warms up it’s around 500-600


Honestly I just hop in the car and take off in the mornings, but then again the cars always garaged and we do live in LA. I personally don’t think I need to warm up the car as much as the others who have to deal with the extreme cold like they have back east.

...I idol about the same also. I don't usually warm it up...read somewhere most vehicles,warm up faster by driving instead of idling !!! ed

Well.. the car doesnt run as good.. if you just move the car as soon as you turn it on..

and whats the problem if you have a low idol. or your car shakes when your at a stop light?

But then again when the car is "cold" I do not push the car, I baby it till the temp gauge reaches normal, the car just acts/feels weird when its cold...

When I leave for work in the morning and it is in the teens or lower my car has been warming up for a good 5-10 minutes with the seat warmer on and the heat cranking. I want my car all nice warm and comfy before I leave for work LOL. During the summer I don't bother warming it up but during the winter it is a must here.

OMG! You guys do not know anything about having your car cold and warming it up to get a good idle! Out East, like CBG can testify, it is Damn Cold and the cars would love to have your coldest morning instead of what we deal with. Personally, My sc430 does not see the winter. It is all cosey in a nice heated garage till spring is already to arrive.
