Question lexus power window kit ????

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-L...Q5fAccessories

Above link if it works [ Ebay item 400026896139 ] is kind of confusing. My question is has anyone experienced any power window failures on any year sc 430. I emailed the vendor and asked him how would you be able to install his kit when it seems like it is really a conversion kit for any car that has manual windows and someone wants to upgrade to electric. He emailed me back that the kit is replacment motors for the windows because the sc430 windows have a reputation for failure. I dont think this is true any one have
any comments on this
.

While I'm no expert, I've been coming here just about every day for the past 2 years. I don't think there's a post in the SC430 sub-forum that I've missed in that timeframe. Never heard ANYONE complain about power window failure.

Saw this posting too.

Lies, lies, lies...

The posting is a generic blanket listing for a universal power window kit. That guy has no idea what he's talking about. SC430 known for power window failure?

I bet if we all emailed him about other cars, like if this would work for a BMW, Mercs, etc., he'd say the same thing...

Dear power windor vendor,

I have a 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, do you think your power window kit would work on my car? I have owned this car for 71 years now and the power window haven't fail yet, should I be worry? Do the power windor on my car has a reputation for failure?

Not to add to this insult to injury post but our front window motors have a pulse output for the top computer to let it know exactly what position the front windows are in. So I doubt that this will work for our cars (I did not look at the auction).

So the next question is, are you having problems with your windows?

I have no window problem at all. I just asked the group if there were any issues with power windows since there was a thread about a CL member windows not working. I thought it was curious how ebay vendors can lie about the obvious and think they can get away with it. I e mailed the vendor and told him his listing was incorrect , He insisted that his kit was new motors etc . I told him our cars are all power windows . He has the kit listed as to convert manual windows to power windows .

My front driver's side window on my '02 was squealing and the dealer wound up replacing the motor (under warranty), claiming it was bad. However, the squeal came back not long after that. I suspect that my motor was okay and the mechanisms just needed lubricating, which they did next.

I guess all sc430 rear window switches stopped working Unless you have the rear window mod Then for sure your rear windows will work

Your right, that squeak is from the rubber seals around the trim not the motor

Mine stopped working a few weeks back, but I just opened up the rear and noticed a wire had become loose; I retightened all the screws and made sure everything was secure and everything went back to normal.

Default HELP WITH SQUEAKSSS... SC430 2002 Where can I find Rubber Seals

Ive seen we both own the same model and year and in fact I have the same rubber squeaks coming from both of my windows. Ive tried lubricating them but they always end up messing up my window which id rather have clean.
Where can i find a replacement part number and how much should it be for both sides of the rubber windows seals.

Thanks, Id appreciate any reply.

Default Rear Window Motor Failed

My wife has an '03 SC430. About 4 months ago the passenger side rear quarter window would not return to the closed position after retracting the top. The motor failed. It was replaced under warranty. Even though this happened, I doubt it's a common problem.
