My 05 manual says engine coolant capacity is 9.9 L or 10.5 qt. ATF capacity is 1.8L or 1.9 qt.

I would suggest only using Genuine Toyota ATF fluid, its formulated to work perfectly with our transmissions. And if you search you will find tons of info regarding it, and how its recommend to be used in our cars.

I buy it from Toyota,

that’s the thing, I put synthetic oil in my engine but when it comes to my transmission I only use the Toyota stuff, I dunno, you'll have people on both sides of the fence on this one, I was told by a Lexus Master Tech that he has seen and heard nothing but great things about the Toyota ATF and that had occasionally seen/heard of problems when individuals had used other oils in their transmissions.

Now for the engine and differential he recommended various products from regular oils to synthetics but he told me to stick with the Toyota ATF fluid for the transmission and power steering parts.

I switched to Redline D4 and have had no problems what so ever.
I use a vacuum pump and suck it up the dipstick tube every other oil change. Refill with fresh (2quarts) + or - . Mobil 1 in the engine and Redline every where else.

Toyota in my area gives a discount if you buy 4 qts or more. Last time I purchased it was 4 bucks a qt.The LS has a drain on the tranny to remove close to 2 qts every 15000miles, not sure about the sc, I haven't been under her yet.
