Trunk hydrolic struts gone bad
How easy is it to replace the trunk struts, my trunk will not stay up at all, can it be done by any mechanic or is it a lexus only thing(or Toyota)

KWPTA,, do a search in this forum on "trunk struts" and you will find great threads on where to buy and how to install. I bought some through one of the vendors mentioned and installed them in five minutes. It's easy and will cost all of around $60 compared to some reports in the forum of $250-$300 at some dearlerships. BTW, the new ones work just great.

Yes, the OEM struts seem to be designed to die after around 4 years, about the time the warranty runs out. I've seen several of them die right at 4 years.
