vsc light after brake pad replacement?
had my local (non-lexus) mechanic put new brake pads on my 04 sc430. after he was done, the vsc light and the vsc off light are now continuously on, and the vsc button doesn't change anything. also noticed that the brake pedal goes down much farther after they feel to initially engage. The manual says that sometimes the brakes can make the vsc light come on, so the brakes are somehow related. Is there some kind of hydraulic value that could have been mis-set or not set when working on the pads?

You may need to clear the ECU by disconecting the battery for about an one hour and then reattach the battery. This should clear the light. If it stays off your good to go. If it comes back on you need to go to Lexus. Good luck let us know how you make out

my guy disconnected some wire and put two of them together a number of times and it seemed to fix the problem. guess its resetting the ecu, but not via the battery. he says the vsc lights are out now.
the rebleeding resolved the pedal problem. so it looks like it's resolved. I'll drive it later today and check it out.
thanks.
