High pitched whooping sound during startup?
I'm here again to mine this highly cerebral community for an answer to my current problem...
It seems tht about every 5th or 6th time I start my 2003 SC 430 up recently, it gives out a loud high pitched "whoop" that last about a second or two.
It kind of sounds like some sort of loud rubbing, like a brake squeal, but lower pitched.
I checked my fluid levels to make sure eveything was being lubricated, but all was normal.
Has anyone had this problem before, and have any advice to give?
Thanks a bunch.

My car is started doing that last year. I think its a bearing on one of the belt pulleys. Mine last until the car gets warmed up, so if it goes away in a few seconds, never mind..
I'm getting real close for a timing belt, so all the other belts will be going soon and I'm waiting till then to have the belt pulleys checked. But if you find anything out, let me know..

Thanks for all the comments so far.
I'll try to have my cellphone record it when it comes up next time and post it.
The best way to describe it, if anyone is familiar with the Texas A&M Aggies, it's EXACTLY like that "whoop" that they make for school spirit and football games. Maybe I have one lodged under my hood somewhere.
I might also ask the dealer to take a look when I bring it in for my next oil change. It doesn't seem to affect anything functional, so far...
