Why oil change at dealer?
I was going to have my oil changed at my Lexus dealer again at over twice the Jiffy Lube price when I talked to my neighbors son who just started working at Lexus Service Dept. Not a mechanic just does tires and changes oil. I thought when I was taking my car in for an oil change it was being done by a Lexus certified mechanic. Nope. Just kids they hire to change oil. According to my neighbors son they mechanics do not see the car. I should of realized that. Now Iam going to Jiffy Lube.

i don't know what dealership you talking about, but my friend is master tech at lexus dealership, and he and his team work on cars, not random guys hired from the street

If they leave the drain plug out at Jiffy Lube and you drive off and the engine blows up in the driveway they don't owe you a new engine or a rebuilt engine but just a used engine! This was a court case and that was what was awarded.
So a $1000 used engine off of Ebay and 10 hours labor for the swap is all you would get.
I am sure every Lexus Dealer in the country would treat you way better than that if they made a mistake.

The difference is the customer service. At least with lexus, they WILL change you oil AND filter. If any crap happens, Lexus will cover or fix it. Jiffy will try to avoid/deny anything you say. Not to mention, Jiffy lube has a quota so they'll be trying to feed you BS to get you to buy their service when you dont actually need them. With Lexus, you go in and ask for an oil change, and they'll do just that.

I agree, I just do it myself. That way I know it is done right. Plus you get to look around and maybe spot something that might require attention.
Wives and kids are always wondering what to get you for Christmas and Birthdays? cases of Mobile 1 and Filters always works for me!

The marina where my boat is at has a place to dispose of oil and filters from boat maintenance. Good spot to take my automotive stuff when I go visit the money pit.
