Ride Quality with 20" Wheels
I'm trying to get some input on the ride quality of 20" wheels with 245/35 tires as compared to the original 18" wheels with the dreaded 245/40 Run Flats. I really like the looks of the 20s but don't want a "buckboard" ride. I figure 19" with 245/40 non-run-flat regular tires have to be better than the 18" 40 series run flats, but I'm wondering how you guys running 20s would compare your ride quality to the O.E.M. Run-Flats?? I've searched all the available threads on this, but I'd like some current input and maybe a suggestion on what brand/model of currently available tires would make for the least annoying ride, with 20s, from your experience. This is my second SC, the first one I just went the easy route with 245/45-18s and that was a MAJOR improvement over the Run-Flats, but on this one I'm feelin' bigger wheels!!!--- Help me make the right decision!

Thanks for the Quick response, But maybe you missed the part of the original post that said:

Ride quality is going to depend on how much you change things up. Bigger wheels, lower profile tires will stiffen up the ride a bit. If you plan to lower the car choice of springs/shocks or coilovers will impact ride quality more. That's where I think the problem may lie for you as once you get the 20s on and see all that room between the tires and fenders you're probably going to want to lower it.

i went from stock runflats today to 20s with toyo tires. the ride quality is drastically better. don't have much experience with other tires to compare them to, but they're pretty reasonably priced.
