Default Eletrical problems?

I have an 03 sc 430 and the battery died the battery was replaced it went dead again a couple days later upon replacing again for the second time now my dual climate control does not work it illuminates when you turn the lights on, the clock works, and the hazards work, but the rest of the functions are dead, no a/c, no heat, and the top won't go down, all the fuses are good, I checked the pass fuse box, drivers sie fuse box, 2 out in the engine compartment, and one in the back, do the climate control centers just stop working? If anyone has any idea I would love the help thanks alot.

Follow the ground wire from the battery to the engine & body.

Remove the bolts & wire brush the ground points & lugs on the end of the ground wires.

For extra credit you can goop some heavy grease over the ground points to help seal out the elements.

Does it die while driving or after sitting overnight? If there is a short in the climate control that could drain the battery as well as not let it function properly.

was this car a "flood car"... if so, it might have gremlins that you'll never get rid of.

Been in this forum since 2002, and I don't recall anyone losing their climate controls.

The battery is a different story. Some people have the drainage problem and some don't. (Keeping the headlights in OFF position-not AUTO helps, and unplugging cellphone chargers, etc.) But with quite a few people here changing batteries, I don't recall anyone blowing out ANY center console panels.

Does sound like a fuse though...

Need a little more information to give my .02.

Does your remote work ok? Is it possible a plug going to your climate control got reversed? Also, make sure the switches in the trunk are working for you top to go down. There is so many things involved I find it hard to figure how you're having 3 problems at the same time. My first thought was something is grounded before it gets to the fuse if it's not blowing any.

I had a problem with my 03 Sc430 that the headlights would only work as Highbeams, the horn would not blow, the back-up lighs would not work and there was one other thing that was totally unrelated that I cannot remember what it was but anyways the fix was the relay/fuse panel that is located in the center of the car between the two rear wheels. It seems as the cars roof rubber seal was leaking and it fried this box. It took the Lexus dealer a few days to find it and the part was a 300/400 dollar part. We replaced the roor rubber gasket and the relay/fuse panel and everything has returned to normal operation. No more problems! You might want to check if your carpet in the back between the two rear wheels is damp.... By the way, this relay/anel is enclosed so that if it did get wet, it could hold water in it. It's a shot in the dark but it fixed my STRANGE problem.

farkas, good information, thanks for sharing.

Creep, there have been sporadic complaints from owners here on the battery draining prematurely. May want to do a search.

Does not seem to affect most owners but a few have posted on it. I would first cover all the basics as mentioned in those threads.
