ok thanks. i got it.. but now... no one ever mentioned anything about the connectors for the ballast were completely different! what did you guys do?

i also found out that one headlight is JDM and one headlight is USDM.. as stated the threads the JDM turn signals plug up fine and the USDM turn signall you need to modify the connector with the 06+ ones.. but BOTH 06+ headlights have the same round connector for the ballast which is where my thumb is in the picture below. my point finger is pointed at the old headlight ballast connector..

You got it wrong. There is no such thing as ballast connector with 06+. The HID gets it power from the leveling motor. Weird I know. That part on your thumb does nothing. Wrap it up with electrical tape if u want.

i think cyberlexus is right.
if your old harness has no connectors for them, then just leave them as is.
I did it a while ago, so I don't remember the details.

seems someone also did the conversion recently.

Yeah I had to do it 2x because I messed up on the turn signal plug the first time LOL.

Hint: the 06+ turn signal plug has 3 numbered slots. When you're rebuilding the plug, insert the colored wire in slot #2, and the white wire in #3

i got it to work. the 6k bulbs i had didn't work. but when i put the stock bulb back in it worked fine. i'm good to go.. thing is though i bought turnsignal SOCKETS instead of the connector! doh!

since my JDM headlight plugged in just fine.. the other headlight i left disconnected. whoo knows when i'll do it again to fix it. pain in the *** lol

cyberlexus thanks for the tip. i'll keep that in mind when i feel like doing it lol

Is your JDM headlight also the driver side?
It could be my old one sold on ebay back in early 2009.

The only issue I had with that JDM headlight was the HID cutoff line. That I do still remember. lol

For USDM (LHD), it goes up and then to the right.
For JDM (RHD), it goes up and then to the left.
The good thing is you get to light up wider area, the bad thing is you will blind the oncoming traffic a little.

Bringing this back from the dead as I go through the '06 front end conversion and still have questions after reading this thread.

i have an 02 sc430 and bought the following:

'06 front bumper
'06 grill
'06 headlights

I read that I also need to purchase d4s bulbs for the headlights and turn signal connector wont fit. what exactly didn't fit so I can purchase the item? the car and the parts are in the shop so i cannot compare. for the turn signal, is it the bulb socket that doesn't fit? do i purchase '06 bulb socket then solder it to the old ('02) harness?

Anything else i need to modify or look into? I don't need the AFS to work.

Thanks all!

...you'll need the headlight bulbs (D4S) & the 06' turn signal bulb sockets, because they are a different size from the 02...when I get home tonight, I'll double check that by looking at some pics I saved.

...hey socal I'm sorry but I don't have those pics. I knew that I took some on my phone when I ran into that issue of the sockets not working, but must have erased them when I got everything working....but I do know that the sockets for the 02' are smaller than the 06'.

No worries and thanks for the effort. Would you know where i can buy the '06 bulb socket? and did you solder/crimp it to the '02 harness?
