I have owned my 05 SC for about 2 years and love it, but it some respects it has been a disappointment so I did test a SL recently. In handling there is no comparison. The SC handles no better than a typical sedan which is disappointing. But I thought the engine in the SL very coarse and rough sounding in comparison. And the controls in the SC are far superior. But the clincher was Consumer Reports which said to avoid the SL if you plan to drive a car for 200k. I have owned unreliable cars and it gets depressing even if the car is under warranty. So forgeting about price I still dont know of any other car I would rather own. And I still think the SC has the best styling of any car on the road inside and out. No other car has such a unique look. To me the SL is beautiful but busy looking.

People who mix up between the SL & SLK are just as blind as those who mix up the SC430 & the Solara, their opinions don't count

No I don't mean to compare the SL and the SLK, but to say that SLK is a pretty common car. Because it looks a lot like the SL I think that shape is very familiar to most people.

Allot of people DO get mixed up with the SLK and SL. I think the SLK kind of in a way devalues the SL due to its lower price and VERY similar styling.
