Will The FT-HS Be The Basis Of The New SC
Toyota: The FT-HS will also be offered in a 2+2 Convertible Coupe.
They look very similar.

Simply, NO.
The FT-HS is purely concept, and has no relation to the SC family other than having two doors. The major difference: the FT-HS is a hybrid, under the Toyota nameplate, and is performance oriented. The FT-HS is "sporty," whereas the SC is more of a "cruiser."
Also, the second set of pics posted of the LF-C is an old (and obsolete) design study that helped develop the current IS line-up (and possibly the IS coupe/convertible). Although that has a functional relation to the SC, it isn't a direct link to the SC.
If the SC is not discountinued (which is the current rumor floating about), the SC will evolve to a more relaxed coupe, such as Benz's CL-Series. The LF-A will evolve as the ultra-sports coupe, such as Benz's SL-Series.

i must disagree when you say they look similar.
they may have a few lines that look close, but when you really look at the cars, each has its own very different feel to it. it would be a serious error in judgment to say that these cars are related as far as design goes.
