I have an opportunity to import a 2002 SC430 into canada but need to quantify the costs before doing so...

If the car is made in the states then it can enter duty free, otherwise duties apply based on the country of origin.

Can anyone tell me where the 2002 SC430 is manufactured?

Not true, My 2004 RX330 is 100% made in japan. The first batch of RX's were made in japan, after that, Canada.

2004 isnt a first batch of rx, first year was what 98/99?

The RX330 was the first to be produced in Canada. You can tell where yours was made by the VIN, 1 is US, 2 is Canada, J is Japan. Canadian models all start with 2T2 as Japanese start with JTJ. In the VIN code is also the plant, I'm not sure exactly which part though.

Fact the RX330/350 is made at both in Japan (Kyushu) and Cambridge, Ontario Canada and is still true to this day. The RX400h however is exclusively at the Kyushu plant along side the Harrier (JDM Toyota counterpart) and the Kluger V/Highlander. There is a larger percentage of Canadian made RX's being sold in North America lately.

BTW, Kanto Auto Works is the same plant that the Gen 1 IS300/Altezza was made.

I was referring to my own RX330's gen and not the obsolete RX300(prev gen.).
