This 8 years has been the longest time for owning any car since I started driving some 50 years ago......now 66 my kids marvel that dad finally met his match. Every time I see another car that I think might replace the SC with more power, features et al and then drive it I stick with the SC.......with only 40K on the car it looks and rides like a new car.
Last year I got an itch for a more sporty, loud car , I kept the SC of course and bought a 08 VW R32 AWD rocket........some days I feel like a kid and drive the R and other days the SC comes out for long distance runs..........

In my mind the SC grows on you and for the money new or used it is by far the best ride and overall best home on the road one could ask for. I have never been told it looks like a pregnant fish or jelly bean as some of the Auto mags have portrayed it as.............
We all have a ride to be proud of.
Happy Holidays to All on the forum and drive safe.
Very well said!!

Although I often crave for a car with more prestige and power then the SC430, I can't find one that drive as nice and definitely nothing is as trouble free that offer this much. I am afraid I am keeping my SC430 for as long as I can. I love everything about it!!

Two more points to the extended Love Affair.

1. Re-extended the warranty for anothe grand and now it goes until 2014. Folks freak when I tell them its got a 12 year Lexus Warranty.

2. Having a Sr. Tech at the same dealership from Day 1. He is the ONLY guy that touches the SC. In fact, we are heading over to have Lunch today . my Xmas treat to him plus his C note stash for doing a great job when needed in 2010.

This makes a lot of sense to me. For years i've been handing the service advisor a 10 spot a few times a year...now that i make sure only a master tech at the toyota dealership does my work i'm also gonna go straight to the source like falcon. Thanks for the idea.

115,000 miles on my '02 and she is still an absolutely great car in both summer and winter (even on ice, with Spike Spyders and Snow tires) No major issues at all. Just works.

Best all around car we've owned. Have NO idea what I could replace her with when it comes time. Hopefully, a long time from now.

The author of this article was doing fine with the Eagle and a few others, but lost all credibility when he put the SC430 on the list.

The article is referring only to the 2002 model. Everyone knows the 2002 model was just terrible, whereas the 2003+ models are so much better.

Obviously my previous post was pure sarcasm. The SC430, regardless of the model year, is a timeless classic that will be loved by many and criticized by those with little to no credibility.

Actually, the 2002 models were hand-built, took a total of 71hrs per car. They're also the fastest according to Lexus.
