So I'm sure this is posted around on this forum somewhere, but thought it would be a good idea to add it here... for anyone who searches for antenna repair/teardown.

Thanks for posting the link Shawn, but that guy sure is rough on the car! His panel removal technique demonstrated why I don't like to take my car to just anyone and would rather do the work myself. I did the antenna replacement and it was not that difficult but there were many panels to remove.
Anyway, it is a good video to give you an idea of how to replace the antenna, but take your time and remove everything first. The panels can be bent, creased or broken

My wife's SC430 chewed through its antenna drive cable and I need some suggestions on accessing the motor. I have replaced two antennae on my LS400s, including removing the broken cable from the drum, so I know how to do that, but I'm not sure what I need to remove to access the unit on the SC430. E.g., do I need to remove the right bracket that holds the top clearance sheet mechanism? Any help is appreciated. Thankx for your help!

I look at my antenna and I give out a grin, it looks OEM.
