The special editionsof 2005 & 2004 both have black wood trims, but since they are produced in such small numbers, I don't know if they are readily available from the factory in Japan, I guess they should be able to make them available in case someone damaged the woodtrim on the special editions & need to replace them. Have you ask the parts dept. of th Lexus dealers? My guess is they won't be cheap.

yes the blackwood was only available for the pb editions of the sc430, which was only offered twice, and a total of 1200 made. if you need the wood you will need teh vin number of teh pb edition i believe, and it's going to be very pricey

There's a place called William Rau Autowood that has done custom wood trim for the SC430. They should be able to it, if you're willing to spend the money.

Here is an example of the custom interior they've done on an SC:

I have no idea of the price, but judging from the amazing looking projects they've done, and the fact that these pieces look like they may be solid wood (vs. veneers), I'd say one would be have to be willing to spend at least as much as OEM.

wow that looks nice. i wonder if someone just take out all the wood and send them in for refinish into blackwood how much that would cost. i assume it might be a bit cheaper coz' no wood will need to be added.

nice info!

There are a few places that make black carbon fiber kits to replace all the wood. They may have other wood options? Search wood dash kits on yahoo and start clicking. I don't remeber where it was sorry

Yes I prefer black carbon fibre over black wood.

If the trim is indeed wood, it can be stained just like any other wood surface. Any carpenter would be able to do this for you. There's no intricate science behind it. When he's done, take it to a body shop for a nice clear coat.
