A cleaner look for sure. I am thinking of doing mine.

I think that looks great. Definitely a cleaner look. Has anyone debadged an older SC430 and how did the paint under the badge look compared to what had been exposed for a year or two. I've got a red SC that is a year old, and am worried that the paint under the badge might look a little fresher than the rest of the paint. David

I debadged mine the first day. The HUGE front emblem was gone the same day too (can't make the stupid image appear here; see it in my gallery).

FWCruiser, I wouldn't worry about the paint being faded unless you had the sun shining on the back of the car for the whole year. Even then, with such a new car, a polish job would make it disappear. If everything fails, you can always put it back; try one first.

What did it take to remove the badges?

Most people use fishing line to floss out the badges. They are stuck on by double-sided sticky adhesive, and you can use adhesive remover fluid (safe for automotive paint and clearcoats) to clean and remove the adhesive remnants.

I used fishing line and a hair dryer. I kept heat on each letter while pulling the fishing line through. None of the letters broke it came off in 1 piece. It didn’t take long at all maybe 2 or 3 minutes to get the Lexus off. After I removed the letters I kept the heat on the remaining glue and peeled most of it off with my fingers. That got a bit hot, but it was worth it as I didn’t have that much glue to clean up. I used an orange based house hold cleaner to get the remaining glue off, worked great.

Here's the front. I was going to grind off the mounting tab but I hit it with black magic marker . I guess it looks OK if you don't focus on it. I'm thinking about trying to fabricate a mesh grill along the lines of the white TT . Anybody wanna help?

Default debadging older SC

I finally got around to debadging my '02 SC a few months ago. There is only the SLIGHTEST residual outline of the two rear decals (from the adhesive, I assume) but absolutely no paint fading whatsoever. These outlines are visible ONLY when the sun hits the car at EXACTLY the right angle, and my expectation is that they will disappear completely after a couple more Zaino treatments.

I did the same black-marker trick; not really visible at all standing up in front of the car. Plus future owners can put it back if they want to. I was tempted to grind it down too
Hey, what mesh grille (white TT) are you talking about ? A mesh grille sounds interesting. Post your ideas and/or progress.
Good day.

Here's an idea of the grill. Anderson Audio in Atlanta did a ton of work to this car. I don't think I'd put the "L" back on and maybe use a wider mesh . I had a 1/2" mesh on my M5 and it looked pretty sweet, but it's really hard to work with. So maybe a smaller mesh is the way to go. I'm not sure what's on a Jag but it looks close to what Anderson used.

wow, that's very clean! i think the front without the badge alone makes it very different already
