Test drove the 2004 SC430
Hi guys
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to test drive the 2004 SC430 with my sales person from Lexus of Madison (Wisconsin). I was visiting Wisconsin and I test drove the car while my GS300 was getting the 5,000-mile service.
The ride was fantastic. I felt like I was in heaven.
I bought the IS300 from my Sales person in the past, so he is willing to give me a price of $63,390 which includes tax, title, etc.
Actually, my brother is the one who wants to buy the SC430.
Is this considered a good price? Or should we ask him to give us a "slightly" better deal since we will be paying by cash?
Thank you.

Unsure of the taxes in WI, options (spoiler, run flats, wheel covers, carpet kits, etc.) so hard to say - base the deal on how much over dealer invoice...I got $1,500 over invoice fully loaded and with local (CA) tax, etc. came in close to $64k
Good luck!

Hi there
Thank you for your post.
This SC430 has all the options. Tax in Wisconsin is 5.5%. So I think $63,390 is not that bad.
I finally convinced my brother to get the SC430 over the M3.

P.S. Lucky you for owning an SC430.

How are you doing?
Thanks for your post.
The SC430 has all the options. It is $60,000 before tax and title which I find okay.
Take care.

Just one comment: the SC has $8k built-in profit (and that's WITHOUT holdback), so you're not even remotely close to $1,500 over invoice. The only TRUE definition of invoice is what you're BILLED by the manufacturer, and that's what the above numbers reflect (www.edmunds.com is a good source for dealer invoice vs MSRP).
Having said that, ALL dealers need to make a profit to stay in business, so keep that in mind. I paid $59K for mine almost a year ago (MSRP was $64,400+). I considered it an excellent deal. With all the '04s around, you should get an even better deal than mine if you shop around, but you should be willing to travel some. I bought mine 300 miles away, but the difference of over $3K was well worth the few hours of driving. I also paid cash, but you should know it's better for dealers if you finance because they make an extra profit.
Good luck.

I will take your advice and look into it in more detail.
