Looking for a "clear bra" in the Md. area.
Does anyone know of a dealer/installer of the 3M clear protective bra in the metropolitan Washinton, D.C. area? One that is relatively proximate to Silver Spring, Maryland would be even better!
Thanks!
Thanks!

try this:
http://xpel.com/support/default.asp
Click on Installation at the botttom of the lower left hand corner of the menu and it will take you to a Zip or Postal code search in your vicinity.
I have xpel on mine. I'm able to sleep at night without worrying about fixing any paint chips on the front of the car. The best investment I've ever made. Zaino would be the second best.

Thanks "teeman 3" for the information. With your information I found a local dealer/installer. I have made arrangements to have the Xpel kit installed on my brand-new, `04 Millenium Silver SC430 this Friday. I was quoted $1100 for the parts (to cover the hood, front, fenders, side mirrors) and labor. Basically, it looks like $500 for the parts and $600 for the labor. Does that sound about right?

Hold your horses!
look at these other threads regarding "clear bra" pricing:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=xpel
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...highlight=xpel

Don't stick w/ one quote, but ask around w/ other "clear bra" installers like Stoneguard, Xpel, 1-800-NO-CHIPS, etc. Then, you'll know which has the better price, reputation, list of cars that the installer has done and other relevant info. about them.
Some "clear bra" installers will quote the higher end of the rainbow and other will have a lower end pricing breakdown. Since I called several installers inside and outside my area code (vicinity of 30-50 miles), I was able to determine which was the better feasible price that I can afford and feel confident about the installer's reputation.
If price is your concern, then do a broader search. If it is not, then go w/ your gut.
For me, $1100 is a bit too extravagant. I got the lower end of the pricing rainbow between $600-$650 (parts + labor). The next pricing level is between $650-$800.
Remember, each installer across the U.S. has different pricing breakdowns, so you MUST do several searches to get a feel of the price ranges so that way you won't regret spending too much where another installer does the same thing w/ a good reputation for a better price.
good luck.

Frankly, I was prepared for a quote that was somewhere in the range of $600-$700, so I was a bit overwhelmed by $1100. Since responding to your information I have been doing some more "shopping around" for better prices as well.
Thanks! I'll check with the other sources you provided.

Update
I decided on Maryland Performance Works in Ellicot City, Md. They are a dealer/installer for Xpel. The work was done this morning; it took about 2 hours for them to cover the hood, front bumper, headlights, fog lamps, and side mirrors. The total cost was $1,080, which is not a bad price for peace of mind. Thanks to everyone on this thread who provided guidance, referals, and/or insight regarding my search for a "clear bra". THIS FORUM IS EXCELLENT!

Paint Protection film
I currently have Armorglove on my SC.
After careful review of all paint films, I went with Armorglove as all the high-end cars in our area all have it on and they can "wrap" the hood edges so you see only where it ends up the hood.
Website; www.Armorglove.com.
Have it on front bumper/air-dam, hood, fender wings, headlights, rocker panels, side mirrors and door cups.
Here's what it looks like: Armorglove on my SC
I highlighted the edge with wax as it's hard to see if I did not leave a wax over the edge.
No matter which one you go with, It's worth it! Damn paint chips very easy! More so than singal stage Lexus Black I had on my 2001 RX 300.

Deanski
