warranty on rims
my dad got his sc almost exactly a year ago this month, however about mid year he bought chrome trd rims for it. The car is washed at least once a week and the winters here in kentucky arent that bad.I say that because already the rims have begun to pit. There are black specs and even holes forming on all four wheels. do you think this is something we should take to lexus espeacially since the wheels are TRD? what should he do??
Thanks
Thanks

I'd certainly try; nothing to lose. I was under the impression chrome was the toughest wheel material to pit; I guess I was wrong. I had so many problems with grainy finish on Lexus's chrome wheels (on all my 3 previous cars), I decided against it on the SC and any future car.
As a side story, I remember catching my brand new SC400 at a local Martin Tire with the trunk full of dirty wheels and tires; stupid dealer still doesn't have a machine, and couldn't even take them in a dealer car . And my console was scratched in several places (dealer refused to replace it), and seat, carpet, mats, and trunk liner all stained... I was mad as hell, especially after smelling whatever crap they used to clean it up (odor lasted weeks). After having to swap the wheels at least once on all 3 cars (and staying there so I could drive them to Martin Tire, and making sure no more wheels in my trunk), I decided I had enough.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
