Hey guys,
I have a v160 from my 1997 MKIV. It has an original 109,xxx miles on the transmission.
The transmission will need to be rebuilt. I recommend Jacks Transmission(stage I or II) or any of our sponsor race shop to rebuild it. As for the condition of the transmission, it pops out of 1st gear every other time going from a stop. Racing into 2nd gear, the syncros grinds. Racing into 3rd, it also grinds. 4th, 5th, 6th, and Reverse, it shift perfectly into the gear. If the transmission would be granny shifted into 2nd or 3rd, it will not grind. The transmission does whine, and only in 1st gear.
Im asking $3000+shipping and PP or OBO.
With the purchase of this transmission and a rebuild, you can have a great rebuilt transmission with a 14 month warranty for about $5000. Or, you can buy a brand new v160 for $6200+ or $5000 for a used transmission with no warranty.
If you are interested, and want pics, I can send them via email or text.
Please guys, don't hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any question or concerns, and I will try to assist you in the best and/ or any way I can.
Thank you,
Sonny
edit: I don't hear the whining in 1st gear anymore. I can't actually remember that last time I heard it, but i just remember hearing it after i put the v160 back into the car after I had a fused clutch disc back in the summer.
