SC400 Diff: 70k miles, 10/10
I just successfully finished my 4.27 Torsen LSD project, so my stock differential is no longer needed.
My car was lady driven and dealer maintained having never seen winters for 11 years and 58k miles. I have driven the car for 10 months and 12k miles with not a whisper of a mechanical issue.
Because this diff has seen only half of one winter, there is almost no oxidation whatsoever. Look how shiny the bolts on the axle stubs are.
If you are intending to drop an aftermarket LSD unit into your differential, this unit would save you installation fees since you could throw it in the trunk, take it down to your local peroformance depot, get the diff center swaped out, and install the pumpkin yourself.
If your diff is showing signs of being on the way out, this diff is effectively brand new. Service records show that the diff oil was changed at 55k miles by the original owner.
