I'm looking for a set of tail lights for my 97 sc to do the clear lens mod. Or even better, a set that is allready done.

I'll trade you my 93 tails for your 97 tails

I dont think they can be cleared, but they can be painted and turn out JUST as nice. Let me know!

its possible.

scott, if you want the half red half clear look, I think you're better off with 95 tail lights. more of a complete red over clear instead of the clear and then red on clear (looks wierd this way)

I want to buy out right in case I screw up the mod or don’t like the final outcome. Once I get it done and like it then I will sell my 97 tails. I would be interested in buying yours if you want to do that. LMK

That sounds fair!
What year are they? And what condition are they in?

Oh I just looked to your earlier post, 95-96 right? Do you have pics?
I am very interested.

I just realized....you plan on completely clearing these out?

First, I'd check and make sure it can be done. As far as I know from reading, only 1/2 can be cleared out.

And second, completely clear sounds a little "ricey" to me, almost like putting underbody neons on a Lexus.

And third, make sure that the older tails can be used with the 97+ lighting system. I know that the 97+ tails use less power then the older ones, and that it causes problems when putting it into the 92-96 cars. Make sure that your 97 harnesses etc. can opate the older tails properly.

Good luck!

completely clear?

sorry Im going to have to agree with mtlee here. If you want to go clear, it is just like getting euro or altezza tail lights. For the love of god, please do dont this

Scott, even though it is your car and your money, I'd like to suggest the 97 tails, there is a reason for why they were released with the final version of the SC. they're just hot! I have no complaints against 95's either, as they are currently on my car. Im thinking for the kind of style you like, you should go with 95's and go half red half clear, a truly classy, yet sporty look to it.

oh.....if you go completely clear, I agree that will be too much (if possible at all).
I will take some pics in a little bit. Most folks just do the 1/2 red 1/2 clear mod. These lights are unmolested and are about an 9/10 IMO
