Default Buying a SC300 for my son.

I looked at a Pearl White 97 SC300 with 75,000 miles today. Very clean exterior with a few minor problems on the front bumper. Very clean interior with only a few very minor leather problems.

No CD or traction control, it has a standard Lexus radio and wheels, and sunroof. Gold emblems.

He was asking $16,500 and has dropped the price to $15,500. Should I be able to get it for about $12,500?

Is it worth that price he is asking?

Did the SC300 come with a CD player and upgrade radio? Should I be looking for a upgraded model?

Thanks for any input. My son will greatly appreciate the advice.

NO DOUBT....Looky here good friend, just shop around and compare prices and you'll see what the going rate in your area is for SC's. I live in LA so SC's here are probably priced differently than in Minny. The main thing I say is see how knowlegeable the owner is about the car, it'll show how much care they put into it. Ask about the common SC problems and see if the owner has already addressed them (leaky PS pump, bushings, etc.) or if he's been abusing the car. Go with your instincts but most importantly DON'T RUSH...the right SC will show itself if you look dilligently...Good luck, oh, and please feel free to adopt me if your garage has room for one more son
