We are having this same argument on SF right now.

DaveH re-used his HG 3 times. It is different than a paper thin stock one, it can be re-used. I would re-use mine if I ever tore my motor apart.

what headgasket do you have in your car Angel??
I would reuse this, but it would bring my compression down to 7.97 along with supra TT pistons...

Interesting, I wasn`t 100% about the metal headgaskets. DO you think there would be some problems going from one engine to another on a used headgasket, I could understand multiple uses on the same engine, but 2 different ones might cause problems. Anyway could you get me a link to the supraforums thread, I would like to read up on it. I will delete my previous post as to not take away from your sell.

actually, i wasnt sure about reusing headgaskets before either. but my mechanic basically said there would not be a problem reusing this one, because of its thickness. I THINK the thin, oem headgaskets cannot be reused. however, it may also be that since it was only on for 2-3 weeks, that this 2mm one happens to be reuseable. maybe if it had been on for a year or two it would be a different story as well. anyways, here is the link:

I had never heard of re-using headgaskets before until I heard DaveH did it. He said he has re-used his for like the 3rd time now with no problems at all and perfect compression I know for SURE that you cannot reuse a stock headgasket, however.

If I ever tore my engine apart, I would re-use mine ... if DaveH can do it, so can I
