I know the backup camera should connect to either the navigation monitor or newer audio system with monitor. I also assume that if you only had OEM audio and the navigation was not in use at the time of reverse, there would have no image since the navigation monitor is not on. I very very seldom use the navigation in the car but I really would like to have the benefit of backup camera, so I'm thinking of replacing the rear view mirror with one that has built in monitor. Has anyone done or thought about doing this? Any pointers or suggestions will be greatly appreciated and helpful. Thanks.
